Characteristics of advertisements

Advert 1

Benefits Offered

Throughout this Snickers Advert we see benefits which are shown from the start but made sense at the end. In this advert they used a celebrity to make people watch the advert. Mr Bean is a very popular character that nearly everyone likes in the advert one of the ninjas said to him to "Focus"  at 0:12 because he couldn't keep up with the others but because were not at the end yet the audience still don't know whats doing on but still watching because Mr Bean is in the advert from 0:00 to 0:50. At 0:20 when the ninjas jumped to a different roof the main actor was panicking a bit because he didn't know what to do but then at 0:50 when he ate the Snickers he changed to a different person after he fell through the roof at 0:44. Once he ate the Snickers at 0:50 the ninjas then asked "better?" as in the Snickers would have changed his performance and the way he was acting in the advert. Once the main actor was changed the slogan came up on the screen saying "Your not you when you're hungry" Meaning if you have Snickers when your hungry you will be yourself and not want any more food.

Advantages  Over Other Similar Products

In this Snickers advert the main thing to show was based on the slogan "your not you when you're hungry" they wanted to show this more to the public with a celebrity However this celebrity  is a bit dopey and does not like any physical activity so at  0:05 when they showed the ninjas climbing you would aspect it to only be them but this is where the celebrity  comes in at 0:09 where he is struggling to cling the wall unlike the others so to change peoples life style they want to show them if don't eat Snickers you will be tired and your activities would be limited. Then at 0:33 the ninja says "thick about our training" showing to the audience a bar of Snickers would make people concentrate and be able to perform tasks they couldn't do before like sliding off a building and falling through at 0:40. Then at 0:46 the ninja says once more "Cheung, you lose focus when you're hungry!" Meaning this is how people would act if they were hungry until they have a Snickers. once you have Snickers you will be your self that is what makes this a product better than others to be once you have Snickers you wont be hungry and you will be your self and someone else

Lifestyle Appeal , Brand Identity

Th advert is more based to the older age group about 15+ because some people younger may not know who the main actor is popular but to people who know of him. I feel as if the advert is also linked to some peoples childhood for example at 0:08 when Mr Bean was climbing up the wall it did seem a bit childish so they could also be targeting the younger audience in a comedy way. Also at 0:32 Mr Beans facile expressions made it seem like he didn't ant to jump and looked like a parent forcing a child to do something they don't want to do. The brand identity in this advert was more to the manly did to the campaign because at 0:43 the main actor is surrounded around male fighter as if they were going to fight. Also the advert makes the product looks heavy at 0:40 when we falls trough the roof makes it seem like the actor was to heavy however at 0:50 the advert makes the product look light as well when the actor jumps up back on the roof.

USP

The UPS of this product is noticeable but only at the end this is because during the whole production the audience don't really know what the product is or what they are trying to show in the advert. At 0:46 people know what the advert is because the product is thrown at the main actor. Then the actor ate the product and became normal suggesting to the audience when your hungry you don't act like yourself meaning when you eat the product you feel like your self again.

Benefits Offered

Right from the start at 0:10 "all the red car wants to stuff his face" this quote benefits because they want to show that the product does not have as much sugar and wont change your size. At 0:14 "he eats everything he sees" here is the red car eats the truck but the blue car drives on to where the product is introduced. 0:20 "looking for a chocolate treat" meaning its the best chocolate at the time. Then at 0:22 "fluffy and light meaning the product is light and wont effect the person eating it. At 0:28 the 2 cars come back together but you can see the difference. This shows to the audience if you eat this chocolate bar its more healthier and it fills you up so you don't have to eat more

Advantages Over Similar Products

At 0:18 they want to show that the the product is more healthy so they added fluffy and light in the lyrics then once the car ate the product the car floated down showing how light the product is compared to the red which ate anything that was in its way. Also at 0:32 blue car glided over the riven and the red car drooped down showing the product to hold you back or drag you back. This shows to buyers that the chocolate bar is healthy compared to other options near it

USP

This advert has a 2 different types one of them is meaning healthy alternative compared to another chocolate bar like a mars bar. During the whole advert you can see that it was linked to health for example at 0:09 they sing all he wants to do is stuff his face this shows that the cars are hungry and would eat anything . The second USP in the advert is its animated because its linked to children buying the product they want them to go and buy them because one it looks nice and 2 its a song and animated video

Lifestyle Appeal, Brand Identity

The target for this advert is young children who watch tv because its animated and they would be more focused on the screen when its something they like. The reason for this is its a different type of advert because its animated it wont be for everyone however its more most likely to be aired when a family show is on. From 0:05 its starts of with i child feel to the advert because it starts with close ups of the cars with smiles on the bumper also it is a race its a game that kids and watch. We see both cars battling for the win but then at 0:26 the red car falls and the blue car smiles again its the same at 0:17 when the care eats the product. It shows how the child would be after eating the product. At 0:22 the bran identity are mostly in them 2 words "fluffy and light" meaning the product is soft and anyone can eat it unlike the product above its quite hard and kids stay away. They also mention light meaning the product is more health compared to others for example the product would be healthy than above because of who they are targeted to  less sugar would be put in this product than the one above. The advert always mention smart as brand identity because its a better option than others and they want to get that across for example at 0:37
